Questions we hear every week.
Straight answers about pricing, equipment, switching, and support. If yours isn't here, call us.
Pricing & switching
How do I know if I'm overpaying for processing?
Send us a recent statement. We'll separate the wholesale costs (interchange and network fees) from the processor's markup and show you exactly where the money goes. There's no charge and no obligation.
Is there a long-term contract?
We earn your business by service, not by locking you in. We'll go over the exact terms of any agreement before you sign anything, in plain language.
How long does switching take?
Approval times vary by business, and many accounts are approved within a few business days. Equipment ships pre-programmed, and we schedule setup and training around your hours to avoid downtime at the counter.
Can I keep my current POS?
Often, yes. Many systems can be re-programmed to a new processor. Tell us what you're running and we'll confirm before anything changes.
Equipment
Which POS system should I get?
It depends on where you sell and how busy you are. Our comparison table is a good starting point, and we're happy to recommend a setup after a short conversation.
Do the terminals accept Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Yes. Every device we offer accepts tap-to-pay, chip, swipe, and mobile wallets.
What happens if a terminal breaks?
Call us. We troubleshoot with you directly and, if the device needs replacing, we get a replacement moving right away.
Cash discount & compliance
Is a cash discount program legal?
Yes, when it's presented correctly: clear signage, the discount shown on receipts, and no hidden card fees. We set it up to meet card brand rules and state requirements, and we keep it current. Learn more about cash discount.
Is Truly Payments PCI compliant?
The equipment and gateways we provide are PCI-validated by their manufacturers, and we help you complete your annual PCI DSS self-assessment so your business stays compliant. This website itself does not collect or store payment card data.
Support
Who do I call when something goes wrong?
Us. Not an automated line. Every merchant has a direct contact at Truly Payments, and leadership is reachable when it matters.
Where are you located?
We're based in Simi Valley, California, and work with businesses in-store, online, and on the go.
